For
the third consecutive year, the Colombo Cycle Fun Ride will be held
giving riders a safe and fun leisure ride around Colombo and its
suburbs.
Organisers
said the Colombo Cycle Fun Ride 2014, to be held on June 8 at the CR
and FC grounds, will see a 3 km ride for kids and a 20 km ride for those
over 15 years.
A
carnival style atmosphere with cycle shops, accessories stalls, food
and beverage stalls, BBQ lunch and music will add color to the annual
event.
Entrance for the ride is free but cyclists must register at the front desk on the day of the event.
Pedal
Pushers, the main organizers, say their aim is to promote cycling as a
lifestyle and also as a conscious effort to lessen Sri Lanka’s role in
carbon foot printing.
“Cycling throws a different perspective on life,” they said on the Facebook event page.
“We
believe, exercise through cycling is good for a persons mental and and
physical well being, and a healthy individual is a positive thinker,”
the organisers added.
